Tesco - Home Delivery

I am absolutly disgusted with Tesco!
Ordered some food shopping today, came on time for once but the delivery driver had blood running down his chin and on his hand.
I accpeted the food as i can not wait for the refund to be procesed, otherwise would have had to go without food until payday.
I rang Tesco cs to complain as i think its rather disgusting that the employee was delivery food with blood on his hand + face but they seemed to not care. I know the driver does not actually touch the food but it is still not nice, especially as I have a phobia of blood just the smallest ammount makes me feel lighted headed and sick.
Very dissapointed that the just said 'OK we will let the store know' not even an apology, i was that annoyed im tempted to take everything to my local store and demanding my money back.

Perhaps the driver had just got a bad nose bleed shortly before your delivery? Or accidentally ate something very sharp a moment before. What is the person instead of having blood on their face, was missing an eye, would you complain then too?0 -

If that was the case then he should have cleaned himself up. having an eye missing wouldnt effect me so no i wouldnt have complained. where as blood carries diseases - for example if he had a blood related disease that was passable through contact then i could be put at risk where as if he had no eye i would not be at any risk.
i cant see how you can compare having an eye missing to having blood on your that could come into contact with customers and the food.Wins for 2011: ........................

Yes, it's not nice. And yes, the risk to you is probably zero. So what do you want? Compensation? Tesco to sack him? Give you free delivery for life? This is just one of those things. Did it not occur to you to say to him "Er, you've got blood on your face. Would you like a tissue?"?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

If that had happened to me I think my concern would have been more for the welfare of the poor driver than a little blood on my pre packed shopping.
Did you invite him in to clean himself up? Offer him a tissue? Offer him a drink? Or get straight on the phone to Tesco?
Have a little heart.0 -

I think you are being over sensitive here, people bleed, people have accidents, the fct that you have a phobia of blood wont stop this happening. He wasn't to know, maybe he hadn't noticed, an old wound could have opened, a nose bleed etc. Both you and your food delivery were perfectly safe so I am not sure what you expect Tesco to do here. I would have offered him a tissue and not thought about it further.0 -
Why are you disgusted with Tesco?Did Mr.Tesco give your driver a smack in the mouth before he delivered your shopping?
If this isn't a troll then you should get a life, quite a pathetic thing to complain about as most people would actually be more concerned about the welfare of another human being than getting a bit of claret on their PACKAGED food.0 -
Please don't attack the op some people do have irrational fears. Ok so you don't agree it understand then maybe ignore this postWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

An irrational fear is fine, complaining about it to the employees cs dept isn't.0

I would have checked he was ok and offered him a tissue or wipe rather than complain about him. He may have had an accident or bump on the way to you. I have my shopping delivered regularly by Tesco and the all the drivers are very polite and friendly. I would ring up and check if he was ok.0

Exactly, let alone storming down to the store and demanding her money back!0
