Can a nursery do anything about people parking on the pavement outside the nursery

No, but I wish residents could do more about parents of nursery and school age kids just parking everywhere - pavements, grass verges, driveways.:mad:
Embed caltraps on the edge of the kerb:D

How about moving the cars with yours?:rotfl:
It drives me round the bend too, I'm often tempted to block in parents who think the residents' parking is fair game."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. In the school I used to work in there were many inconsiderate parents (park on the kerb, go up the drive, stop in the middle of the road to let small darling out, park across drives for a few mnutes etc). Did not matter how many exhortations there were from the school by letter, end of term missive, even in person. The only effective method was to get a PCSO there. Even then the effect wore off after a while unless they were there every day.0

Where I live there is a Infant School at the end of the road - parents are always double parking and really don't care. I phoned the school once since it took me 20 minutes to get off the estate since people were coming in off the main road, there was only access for one line of traffic and people were trying to get out at same time - everything just came to a halt until somebody realised they would have to give way and let people out - the access road leads straight onto a busy road and roundabout. The school advised they are always asking parents to park sensibly but nobody takes any notice and advised phoning the police and asking them to patrol for a while (I would have thought the police have better things to do). They also have their own carpark but close it at end of school since parents were driving into it at such speed it became dangerous so they now lock the gates to stop this. Very annoying but seems little or nothing can be done. Unfortunately there is also an OAP Home at the end of the estate and this problem has even affected the ambulances but I was told when an ambulance driver moaned at one of the Mums she told him where to go - nice huh!
This is the same as where my daughter goes to school, it drives me mad. The school always mentions an alternative parking option in the newsletter but it never changes. You even get parents in cars mounting the pavements where children are walking. They are so b* determined to park as close to the school as possible. Two children have been hit by cars, neither of them seriously hurt luckily.0 -
What is it that you have against drivers/disabled drivers?
You must be bored, mind you living in your area I can see why.
Translated as: I'll park on double yellow lines and block the pavement if I like!
Yes! I'm a blue badge driver, but why would I take a child to nursery, if I have to get my wheelchair out of the car to do so?
Besides, even blue badge holders aren't allowed to park on the pavement!
Because you can......doesn't mean you should!0 -
We have a novel way of dealing with this kind of malarky in Essex..

Our local police station used to keep a stck of A4 sized stickers printed with PAVEMENTS ARE FOR PEOPLE and the picture of a car parked with two wheels on the pavement with a big red X over it. They were very sticky stickers
I used to carry a few with me when I walked my children to school - and use them! This was quite a few years ago, though - don't know if there's anything similar available now.......

Whats the problem here? Parking on the pavement is illegal - report it to the police. The police are quite good round here, if someone parks on the pavement and blocks it they'll be towed or issued with a fine. Either way, its for the police to sort out not the nursery.0

What bugs me is that I failed my driving test because as I reversed I JUST tapped the kerb - didn't mount it - instant fail. I've passed now though
Contact the local traffic people to get wardens out there - They'd get LOADS of money in tickets lol. They'd be there in a shot:beer: Thank you to everyone!
