Oh you enjoy your enthusiasm...he'll come round!!
Northwich is right on my doorstep - I'm only about 10 mins away!
And no I'm not the first to do Chester Zoo....it's a really popular venue now, there's at least one other bride to be on here marrying there. I just love the place, am a member of the zoo but even before I took membership I went loads, and it was the first place OH and I took our kids to meet each other - we've got 4 teenagers between us!
Hope you get your registrar sorted OK x0 -
Awww ellay it sounds as though it holds some special memories for you

I hope you post some pics of the fab day so we can all have a nosey... I think the last time I went to Chester Zoo was on a school trip back in primary school...
Oooh and we've booked the registrar, or rather OH did (well he was meant to do it on Friday, but emailed them even though I said to ring them so I spent the weekend panicking and wondering whether we'd be able to book one for our date!)
So thanks both... You turned a clueless bride into a clued up one

Nice one...it's a relief to get that out the way. And when you get to June you can give notice where you live which is another nice thing to be able to cross off the list...and there's several threads on here about giving notice, some people get quite worried about it but it's no biggie really, the people are dead nice. In some places they 'interview' you together, in others it's separate but it's not as intimidating as it sounds!
And if you're after photographers in this area I can recommend mine
Trying to think of anything else I'm having here that would be good for you...my car hire place is just outside Northwich and lovely, but depends if you want cars from Brum or if you're staying locally.
With a June wedding the big things will get booked up quite quickly so you do need to think about some of those things soon.
Have fun

Thanks again ellay!
We've got a package where we are which means we get the place, cake, cars, florist, table dressing (chair covers presumably) and photographer (although my friend's OH wants to do some pics as a wedding pressie which I think would be lovely but don't know if photographers would allow others taking pics like that....)
If you have any suggestions of people who can do hair and make up that would be great... Particularly anyone who can make very straight hair curly for the big day!

hi im not from chester, im from ellesmere port, but close enough lol...just wanted to query whats the latest time you can get married in a church. To cut costs, we are planning to get married late as poss, go to venue after photos, drinks and mingling, then at 8pm a buffett, but im worried it may be too long to keep people waiting for food until the evening guests come from 7pm onwards0

Thanks for this info. I've booked the registrar for our wedding venue but they didn't mention the increase in cost so I'll double check when I get home what price we've got on our paperwork.

Gosh, I was Wirral/ Merseyside was as easy to deal with! I'm a bit further up the M53 from you lot but still close!

Miss_pixie - I've been the holiday Inn, Ellesmere Port, was nice but I can't comment on the Civic Hall, sorry......

Know that the civic hall is good for D-I-Y- but my friend opted for Holiday Inn as they did an all in package that was practically impossible to beat.
We've opted for Alexanders in Chester! Not long to go now. How soon before do we discuss service with registrar?0
