Greenhouse anchoring??

I've got a Gardman walk-in greenhouse like this - GAM090023-4.jpg
But I can't seem to keep in anchored to the ground. It came with some pegs, but there are so many rocks in the ground, I can't get the pegs in, or to stay in. Whenever there is any wind the whole thing falls over :(

I've looked for some weights to put on the bottom bars (bags of compost seem to work ok, but it's not very practical!) Does anyone have any idea on keeping it upright??

I have a similar one from Wilko's. I have put bricks on the bottom lengths of mine. I have only had it for a few weeks, but it seems to be holding up.

That's a good idea, maybe I could use engineering bricks (they're the ones with the holes in, right?) and put the poles through the holes??

Maybe - I just have some laying around the garden, so use them whenever I need anything to be anchored/kept in place!

I was going to ask for some advice on the plastic green house type things as I think I'll need something like that although renting a house with a yard so can't have anything permanent or anything expensive (as skint).

At least I'll know to grab some bricks to help weight it down. Any other advice on using these would be great!

  • Anchor it down with strong cord and tent pegs.

  • If you can't get hold of bricks, use some large fizzy drink bottles (filled with liquid of course!). They are surprisingly heavy when in bulk.

This is the same as mine I couldn't use the pegs as it is standing on slabs. I have used bricks around the bottom and put a brick on each shelf whilst not much in there it has not gone in the wind at all.
