MrRedundant-it's not £50. For 5 mths of warranty.
Lee-I had an old banger before and the problem were the unexpected repairs it needed, last MOT before sold £700-with new you don't have that. And that is why I have Suzuki Swift 1.3 and not Golf or Ford-couldn't afford those. More points of view than the one.0 -

The fact is yes block exemption exists and you can get your dealer serviced at any garage provided they use genuine parts and complete the service fully as required. I.e no short cuts, no mistakes, correct order.
Personally for the sake of £50 I would always use a dealer as the chance of error is far higher at a local garage on this which is all great. Until your turbo or something else blows and your asked to prove the grade of oil or find out it was the wrong one.
If you buy a new car christ pay the extra and get it serviced at a dealer. not worth the risk. There was a story on here fairly recently about a car warranty failure due to incorrect oil treatment.
I dont for a second believe that your average small independent fully uses the correct stuff and sequence and more just stamp the book. Great if it goees ok.
Absolutely right. I spent £30k on 2 new cars 18 months ago. No way am I going to give the dealer any wriggle room at all if there is a potential warranty issue.0
