To whom, or where, do you propose selling it? And how old is it?0

Probably not worth much, I'll do you a favour and take it off your hands for £100.

Does anybody reckon i would get £500 for it?
Yeah quite possible, depending on the condition. All that would cost over £700 new easily even today.
Might be a suggestion to check out the trading section at the avforums.co.uk in addition to gumtree, as they use some kind of system of open trading and credibility checks. You could see how others have gone with selling similar items. I imagine it would be a good site to trade as it is full of like-minded people, so more likely that you'll find someone looking for the same thing you are selling.
If you sold on ebay, you would get more exposure potentially but with the triple dipping of fees it might not be worthwhile (http://www.ebaycalculator.co.uk/index.php).0 -
