Being a cautious seller myself, I was wondering has anyone sold mobile phone(s) on ebay? I noticed there are a lot of mobile phones up for auctions on ebay. Some phones (especially iphone 4) could end up being sold very close to the retail price. Does the winning bidder actually pay or will it always end up as a "second chance offer"?
I am only asking because I am consider selling my Blackberry and it seems I could get good money for it. So I was wondering whether it is worth putting it on ebay and how much risk will there be?
Ultimately if it is too risky then I could always sell it to one of the mobile phone recycling company

I took the risk last year and successfully sold my Sony Ericcson phone by auction on eBay. Admittedly it wasn't high value (c.£60).:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

If you do sell your phone on eBay,remember it needs to go by Special Delivery and not by first class recorded delivery due to possible high value.
Also set your postal preferences and state them very clearly that you will not ship overseas even if the nice man from Nigeria keeps pleading that he needs a phone to talk to his ailing mother in some remote place and he will send you £££S and ££s (not) Also I do believe that RM will not compensate for phones posted outside of the UK.
I have in the past sold 2 phones on eBay I got good money for them and sent by Special Delivery and had no problems whatsoever0 -
I have successfully sold a few phones on Ebay in the past.
Like Deeplydizzy says, always send them via special delivery and make sure you charge enough postage for this (usually about £6.00). I have always kept a note of the phones IMEI number in case of scammers and make sure you delete all your personal stuff from it.
I always stick to posting within the UK as well.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -

I've sold a couple of android phones for between £250-350 on eBay, no probs at all. As has been said - send via RMSD only and don't ship overseas. Set your bidder preferences to be quite strict. Do it by the book - photograph everything and keep records of the IMEI/serials.
The only thing I will say is to expect to lose a fair whack on the hefty eBay fees. You may want to consider selling on fo.lk or AVForums instead. Or even gumtree (dealing in cash on collection only - deffo not Paypal via gumtree).0 -
It's safe enough to sell mobiles to Europe. You just need to charge for a courier with online tracking. Broadens the market.0

Using a courier removes all problems. I only sell high value to the EU, as there are no customs charges. Safe as houses. You are talking about the Italian postal system, completely different.0

Try Esato Forums as well, they have a marketplace for buying & selling.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

I've sold a couple of phones on eBay without any problems. I blocked buyers with <1 feedback and said I would dispatch to the UK only...0
