Hi peeps,
I have got a nice new computer and have downloaded the Microsoft Office 2010 Professional package.
I have opened outlook and have added my g mail account to it as I prefer using outlook for emails.
Having an issue though - none of my sent messages are appearing. I've checked all the folders and they don't seem to have transferred. Even the few messages I've sent this morning using Outlook so not appear.
I have had a look on-line and it seems that other people have this problem although I can't find an answer that I understand.
Also, I am a bit lost with the new look of office - not the normal file / edit/ tools etc bar at the top that I'm used to with office XP, so I'm having difficulty finding things.
Would love to hear from anyone who can assist!
Thank you

Have you set up your gmail in Outlook to use "imap" or "pop"?0

The instructions here might help (it says for outlook 2007 but 2010 is not much different):

Don't know how you set it up if you don't know the answer to that question as you do have to click on set-up pop or set-up imap when setting it up (unless things have changed since my old version 2003) look at email accounts to find out.
You probably do not have the save sent messages box ticked have a look at email options under the tools button on menu. (tools/options)I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -

Thanks for this - checked gmail settings. IMAP was already enabled.
Should I now add the account to outlook again manually configuring settings? If so will I lose all the contacts and calendar info I've just entered?

I've had a check there and it is IMAP not the other - sorry for the confusion. I can't find a tools button on the menu. it's had a facelift. Would it be known as any other name?

I don't think so however I moved away from outlook a few years ago so I'd take that with a pinch of salt.0
