Anyone recommend a good conveyancing sol

Looking for a good conveyancing sol, no sell no fee, no need to be local as selling flat that is not close to me anyway so everything will be by post.

I have seen a few online but they seem to good to be true and dont want to be lumbered with costs that havent been quoted for.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

PRESS THANKS

To check for hidden costs you need to read the T&C carefully. Read this.

Google Stephensons solicitors. They're in Yorkshire. I used them to (attempt to) sell a flat 6 yrs ago and to buy a house last year.
The flat sale fell through (on the day of exchange) and all it cost me was £8 (eight) pounds. Their fees were very competitive and during both transactions they were very efficient.

Use a solicitor that is close to you so that it is easy to sign documents. Online companies can easily delay a sale by weeks.

Or use the company that is currently the deeds, as you are only selling they may give a fixed price.

Looking for a good conveyancing sol do you want an actual ' solicitor' or an untrained headset wearing person that talsk well on the phone but hasn't got a clue about the legals? , no sell no fee that is often the sign of a outfit that doesn't invest much time or seniority into the deal and so can afford to write off the time, no need to be local as selling flat that is not close to me anyway so everything will be by post correct, it is a red herringto think you need a local solicitor, as conveyancing is done by post and most cleints receive max 4/5 letters from their solicitor from start to finish .

I have seen a few online avoid but they seem to good to be true and dont want to be lumbered with costs that havent been quoted for.

Get a Lexcel accredited solicitor firm http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/productsandservices/lexcel.page by searching here against your Town http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/choosingandusing/findasolicitor.law and make sure:

    1. the one solicitor/legal executive does conveyancing as their only work and will be the same person from start to finish
    2. the team around them is enough so that person is not overworked
    3. they do not close at 5pm or at lunch
    4. they give you their personal email and direct dial phone number
    5. they do not call themselves a case handler or something similar
    6. they state they 'have no hidden charges'
    7. that the name of their firm does not somehow indicate how great they are

    Good luck
My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:

My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o
