How easy and what is involved in getting your build signed off AFTER it has been completed.
This includes checking footings etc.

The Building Inspector would need to inspect. With footings etc, this would involve making exploratory trenches to examine them. Whether they do this themselves, I doubt - you'd need to employ a builder (or DIY) to dig up (or expose cavity walls whatever)) whereever they wanted to look.0

BI will also want to ensure that correct thickness insulation was used, any drainage (including stormwater) correctly bedded and routed, etc, etc. They may also need to see Fensa certificates for new windows plus a Part P for any electrical work.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Building Inspector should be able to certify compliance as far as windows are concerned. FENSA is only an alternative to BI certification.RICHARD WEBSTER
