Got a problem with hotmail in that yesterday it stopped working for about 4 hours, then it started slowly putting emails in my inbox however i cannot do anything with them, cannot read them, cannot delete them, cannot send new emails etc. I've done a virus scan etc and all fine - however if i use my spare laptop i can use hotmail as normal its fine - is there anyway of reinstalling hotmail?

Do you mean the Windows Live Mail software? Or the Hotmail website? Basically, are you using Hotmail inside your web browser?"Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. Getting too technical now .............. i'm going into Mozilla Firefox then going onto Hotmail. I think the Hotmail version on my laptop has been corrupted as i can access my emails, read them etc fine on my new laptop but on the one i used all the time it will let me into my inbox but cannot open/read/delete/send emails.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0

You do not install anything to access Hotmail (unless you use Windows Live Mail as MsHoarder said). Hotmail is web-based mail and you use a browser (Firefox, Chrome, IE) to get to the site and log in to use it. That is all. There is no Hotmail application on your machine.
Since you are using Firefox, have you checked that it is an updated version? Have you updated your Flash and Java lately? Plus any of the other extensions you may be running in Firefox?
Try installing the Google Chrome browser http://www.google.com/chrome and browsing to Hotmail from there. Chrome updates itself, pretty much, so if you're not technical then you don't have to keep doing it yourself.0 -

If you get to something via Firefox then you are using the web version, not a program you can uninstall. Is hotmail your only email account, or do you have seperate email software on your laptop?
Try logging out and and in again from hotmail, failing that try checking the following in Firefox:
Edit...Preferences...Content...Check there is a tick next to "Enable javascript"
Edit...Preferences...Privacy...Show Cookies...(Search for Hotmail)...delete cookie (probably login.live.com or similar). Then go to the hotmail login page and try again.
Have you installed any Firefox addons recently? Don't worry if you don't understand.
Let me know if any of that helps."Every single person has at least one secret that would break your heart. If we could just remember this, I think there would be a lot more compassion and tolerance in the world."— Frank Warren0
