How far back does GP hold your medical records

    GPs should hold records from birth. Under 16s (hospitals) should keep them until the patient is 26 and then destroyed. Over 16 held for life. I was told this by a hospital few years ago.

    The GP will still have your paper records, unless they've got lost somewhere when you changed surgeries.
