ford fiesta 04 stalling when cold HELP!
hi
my fiesta 04 1.4 engine has been stalling for the last week on a morning when i take om to work.
i have to sit and warm up engine for about 5mins unless it just stalls when i drive.
I have been googling problem and says trottle value, so the guy up the road who builds cars and is very good took a look on saturday cleaned it, checked pipes etc and it no better. We then checked internet that said icv , so yesterday he went to jennings and found out my car does'nt have one.
Guy said he would rather not mess about with it and suggested i find a good garage.
Took it to garage nearby and he was lovely but thought the same icv so rang another garage who does fords , guy said trottle but told him it had been checked.
Suggested i need a software upgrade so got it booked in
came home and rang jennings told last software upgrade was 4 years ago.
I don't know much about cars but seem to get ripped off all the time
Should i get it put on the machine for a test and see what happens
i should say i have had new plugs and ht leads last may.
thanks for any advice in advance

Getting it put on the diagnostic machine to get the fault code read is probably the only real option other than randomly guessing what is wrong. At some point you are going to have to pay someone to actually diagnose what the fault is.0
