sexual discrimination in car insurance.

Seen something on the news and thought i would see what everyone thinks about it.

I think its about time, i read somewhere (a while ago) that a boy aged 19 phoned up for car insurance and was mistaken for a female. The documents obviously wrong so he phoned up to change this and got hit with a further £600.
I dont believe the current set up is fair and encourage the change with the younger generations as its just as common to see an electric pink 'tuned' corsa (with the driver sporting a matching pink velour tarcksuit) sitting in maccy-d's car park.
But for the elder its a bit of a blow as it put ups a familys expenditure.

I'm a 20 year old male. I cant find car insurance for a car with a 1.0L engine for anything cheaper than about £2000. Last time I tried for a quite I changed gender to female, with all other details the same, all the quotes came back for nearly £1000 less. It's ridiculous. They will probably meet half way with the costs, charge women more and men less.
I would like my insurance to come down, but deep down i reckon men's prices will stay the same and women's will be raised to meet them...0
