When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:T

Goooood morning and a very happy wednesday to everyone:beer:
No work for me today, but am taling eldest for an orthodontic check up, very exciting. Still, we get a cuppa in the cafe afterwards;) This afternoon I must get onn with more uni work...so that's my day sorted.

Hope all well....nice to see the thread busier again:T
Ok, here's my list:
  • check banking
  • check onepoll
  • post ebay sale
  • packed lunch for dd2
  • meal from plan tonight - beef stew
  • meat defrosting in fridge...keep running costs down;) (Where is OliveOyl who gave us that tip?)
  • heating low
  • check ebay listings
  • uni work
And that's all I can think of at this time of day:rotfl:
Have a great hump day:A
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Good morning all, and thanks to pixie for starting the thread. It's Wednesday, but not my week for a Grandma Day :(. Working a 'nine-day fortnight' can get a bit confusing. Wish I could afford to have every Wednesday off!!

    So far I have:
    • run DW overnight on Economy 7
    • checked banking - still no sign of my £327 refund
    • checked for surveys
    • made lunch to take to work
    • boxed up 3x half dozen eggs to sell
    I will also:
    • take DH's car and use his diesel - too cold for bike again ;)
    • get paid for the eggs
    • nip into town at lunch time to buy chicken food using the egg money
    • keep checking for surveys during the day
    • do an hour and a half overtime at each end of the working day
    • cook a Hummingbird Cake tonight using over-ripe bananas
    • write my March goals list
    • write a shopping list for Roman Blinds I'll be making with another DFW in April :D;):D
    • have an NSD (chicken food won't count as different budget)
That's plenty for one day I reckon! Have a good DFW day folks! stitchy x

    Morning all!

Feeling a bit better today, a scalding hot shower last night and 37 minutes on Wii fit did me the world of good! DD is at her dads today which meant I could get into work 15 minutes earloer, this makes all the difference, it's amazing!

    Here is my list:-
    - [STRIKE]Checked banking[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Made payment to CC[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]Checked my budget for month [/STRIKE] tight
    - [STRIKE]Update debt spreadsheet[/STRIKE]

    - Sell a purge today
    - Invoice lots of my held-back labour?
    - Another busy day with lots of cars going out
    - Snacks from home. Made Twinks flapjacks! Well...Twinks hobnobs but in a tray and cut into flapjacks, worked out 188 calories each!
    - [STRIKE]Research into selling *something* on ebay, don't know what to put it up for or what it might go for![/STRIKE]
    - Definately sparkle!

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!
  • Morning all, and thanks Pixie for starting off the thread :)

Today was going to be an NSD but this is the thing. I'm trying to go gluten free as I think I may have an intolerance to it (doctors booked, etc) and unfortunately, the chicken tikka pieces I bought in the weekly shop has gluten in it :( So will have to buy some other chicken for my salad (trying to be healthier too!)

The things I will do today are:-
    - Check online banking
    - Eat food from stores (other than the chicken)
    - Work hard even though the boss is away!
    - Get an update from creditors about outstanding balances
    - Try and be positive!
    - Not do small load of washing and do 1 big load at the weekend
    - Put my pennies left over from yesterday in my change pot

    Happy Moneysaving!
    October Grocery Challenge - £67.18/£135
    Save up £500 - £0/£500
    NSDs for October - 0/10

    Morning all

Thanks to Pixie for starting us! Yay it's hump day, this week seems to be speeding by. Sun is shining today, discovered that my office gets REALLY hot in the afternoon when the sky is cloudless so I have that to look forward to.

    Today I will:
    Walk to work
    Check bank balances
    Check surveys
    Read MSE email
    Have homemade lunch
Walk home instead of going to the gym
    Ebay a few more items
    Leftovers for dinner

    Have a great day everyone

This week IS going quickly! But I seem to have ages over everything this morning!

    My list for today:
    • checked online banking
    • checked for/done several surveys
    • started making bread
    • make snacks to last the next couple of days instead of buying them
    • heating on low
    • continue filing
    • dinner from stores/menu
    • lunch on leftovers
    • sort out energy monitor which arrived yesterday

My coffee with a friend yesterday ended up being free - it was so cold we stayed at her house instead of going out!

Have a good Wednesday, everyone :)

    Hiya everyone

Having a goodish day so far

Had a meeting with a lady about doing some temp nannying for her between June and Aug and it seemed to go well so fingers crossed I get it. Unfortunately I then had to go to the dentist for a filling so I'm feeling very sorry for myself now!! Nonetheless I will:

    - check for surveys
    - check for MS
    - check banking
    - storecupboard meals

Hope everyone has a lovely day

    Mx
