Re: Travel insurance. Anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with Direct Travel?
I asked about hospitalisation. Would I have to pay the bill, which could come to thousands of pounds, then make a claim when I got back to the UK. Was told by Direct Travel: "It is likely that if the bill came to thousands of pounds that they would invoice us directly."
Not keen on the "It is likely..." part.

I`ve used DT for years, claimed twice and they paid out without a problem twice.
If something happened to you abroad and you went into hospital and as long as the condition is not "pre-existing", the hospital dealers directly with the insurer.
I think AXA are the insurer that they use.
Whoever you spoke to was probably the teaboy.
