If you have pre pay gas with Eon, they, apart from perhaps ebico (depending on kWh usage) are the cheapest ppm gas supplier, and no standing charge on Eon ppm gas. For electric Scottish Power offer a no standing charge ppm tariff, southern elec also have nsc on their ppm elec, and BG will give you nsc rates, but only if you get them to change your current elec ppm to an Actaris KBD (KDB?) meter. Get an idea of usage and run a comaprison to see who works out best for you.

Use a comparison site. They cater for PPMs too. You'll need to know your anticipated annual consumption in kWh to get the most accurate output.

If the current accounts are still in your mother's name (only), only she will be able to request a switch of supplier.
