Santander Zero CC - Balance Transfer Fee?

Hi all,
I have a Santander Zero Credit Card which I got in June last year under the original terms and conditions eg. 0% interest on balance transfers for 12 months and 0% balance transfer fee.
I've been happily using this incurring no fees for the past 5 months, obviously as its 0%.
But have just had a fee charged (£5) for a balance transfer which i did last month, no fee was mentioned on the phone when making the transaction. I've managed to get Santander to agree to refund the fee, but they are claiming the 0% balance transfer fee offer ran out in february.
I've read and re-read the terms and conditions and they clearly stipulate 0% balance transfer fee/charge. No end date for this is provided. I've also had absolutely no correspondence from Santander advising me the terms and conditions have changed. (I note the schedule of charges on the back of the statements has recently changed to mention a 5% or £5 fee, but this table is clearly labelled 'The information contained within this table summarises the key product features not displayed elsewhere on the statement and is not intended to replace any terms and conditions.')
I'm expecting a call back from one of the managers shortly and was just wondering if anybody else has had similar experiences, which may or may not have been resolved to an acceptable outcome.
I have to say that I've had appalling service from other parts of Santander but until now had always found the service of the credit card acceptable (except a few quirks with the website).
Any shared experiences or advise would be much appreciated.

the % might have been 0% for 12 months on the bt,but it might not have given you 12 months in which to do bt`s?0

No, I remember this.
This was the feature of Zero. 0% BT fee, 0% forex charge, 0% ATM fee. I'm pretty sure none of these were time limited (though the 0% APR introductory offer on BTs was).
Then they withdrew the card for a while and later reintroduced it with different terms. Also it was then only available to existing Santander customers. I'm pretty sure they changed the T+Cs on my card at the same time and introduced a fee. As a sweetener they offered a new BT 0% APR deal. Ie with a 3% fee, but 0% APR. It was 0% APR 6 months so I ignored it. Later they came back with a better offer (?12 months) and I took it.
I'll have a dig to see if I have the paperwork - but I wasn't surprised by the charge and they confirmed it on the phone. So I think they did notify me.0 -
I got a Zero card in December and did a 0% BT with 0% fees - only had 3 months to do it in tho, and the interest rate is only good for 6 months. Still it's a nice little cushion to help me pay off the balance I ran up last year doing some home improvement while avoiding any interest charges0

Hi guys thanks for the replies. Chattychappy I'm glad to hear someone else recalls and had the same interpretation of the original T&C's re 0% on the various fees. Still haven't had my call back from a manager so will wait and see what is said.Save £12k in 2012 no.34 £650/£12,0000

The Zero has only ever had 3 months from date of opening to perform any BT's. They've never had a BT window of more than 3 months for which to do all the BT's you can do within your given credit limit. I've never seen longer than that in the 3 years I've been with Santander...0
