Hi gemgold, this is going to sound awful, but I don't mean go away to another forum & don't come back. But as it's a complicated issue it might be worth asking on an expat in Italy forum I've just looked at a few & this one,this one & this one all seem to be active. Have a look around & see if any of them seem friendly & pop a post on asking what you have asked here, hopefully someone who lives in Italy will have a better idea.
