Average Duel Fuel Costings
So I am looking at moving out of the parents house into my own one.
I am looking at a mid-70's 3 bed mid terrace, but I am trying to estimate how much gas/electricity I will be using.
So I am wondering if people living on their own could share they monthly costs of gas/electric just to give me a rough idea for budgeting.
BG for instance on their dual fuel standard tariff have an average cost, and go to say average cost is due to this amount of energy used.
But I do not know how that would translate to a single person living on their own working through the day
Any advice is appricated
Thanks
Dave

A 3 bed terrace is average so whatever british gas says is average will be close. It doesn't matter whether there is 1 person or 6 people in the house you still have to heat the same space and heating is the majority of the bill. By the way how long is a piece of string? It is the same answer you'll get for that question. Turn everything off as much as possible. Insulate the house as best you can. Heat the house for as few hours as possible and your bill will be lower than the average.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

For a 3 b/r terrace with gas CH and hot water, try 20,500kWh for gas and 3,300 kWh for electrcity as a starting point for the comp sites. All electric houses will cost much more to heat.No free lunch, and no free laptop

From £15 a month up to £150 a month.
Read your meters when you move in and estimate the actual cost of your piece of string in situ. You can then juggle according to comfort and cost.0
