jacamo order

I saw a couple of pairs of shorts in the website of jacamo.co.uk, and I ordered them using a credit card - at least I thought I had.
The way they process orders is to imply that you need to open an account before you can add a discount code, and the prompt to use a credit card is not prominent so it appears that I opened an account with £200 credit - which I don't want, and that I had used £35 (the cost of the shorts).
I immediately paid the £35 by credit card only to find that the transaction for the shorts didn't seem to be processed.
I then e-mailed them to close the account, and asked for a refund of the £35.
About half an hour after that I began to get automated e-mails - thank you for opening an account, your password, your account number, and the details of the phantom order which is "awaiting dispatch", and a "we have received your e-mail" response to my "close the account" e-mail.
The possibility is that the shorts will be delivered, my credit card transaction processed, and I will have what I ordered - no problem so far, but I will still have this unwanted account.
What can I do to ensure this account is closed without penalty.

Firstly I had one opened about a week ago by them. It is clear in the sign up terms that you are agreeing to them conducting a credit search for an account.
The credit summary can be found here;

You could have got 10% off your first order and then paid in full before the due date to avoid any interest....0
