Yeah thanks for this thread. I'd been debating whether to give these a go ever since i saw it in the lakeland book. Having tried HM burgers and got very messy hands and the results, although tasty weren't overly impressive to look at!!:D

I'll be checking ebay instead I think in true MSE style. ;)

Hurrah I bought a burger maker from ebay and it's arrived. :D Just need to give it a good wash ;) Got the wax discs and plan to freeze any left over burgers too - hopefully!! ;)

Nice neat burgers that actually fit in the bread rolls, due to be attempted on Friday!! :D

  • I have the Kitchen Craft Burger maker with a spring in it - it's great. I used it last night to mould my leftovers into neat bubble and squeak rounds. It comes apart for easy washing up. I got it off Ebay duruing the summer for about £3 odd plus postage.

i am wondering whether to buy a burger press and am wondering if they are worth the kitchen space?
i obviously have 2 hands and am perfectly capable of shaping a ball of meat but was i quite like the idea of having more professional looking ones, i was also wondering if there any other advantages.

    thanks

    Hi there

I have one by lakeland that is a plastic case that you put the meat into and twist down to press the meat into a round...they also do the clear plastic discs to seperate them for freezing..it takes up no more room than say a Mug......and wasn't expensive at all... one of those things that i don't use very often.. so didn't want to spend heaps on ...but does the job

    ok..just been on www.lakeland.co.uk and they are £2.99 and they have a 1/4lber for £3.99 ...

  • TBH I bought one and dont use it. I cannot be bothered in cleaning it and it really doesnt make much difference than making them by hand.
