1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
...I had 47 items on my receipt, only 17 were included in the price comparison!!

Although most that were not included were Tesco own brand, doesn't Asda have their own brand alternative??

from terms they use asda home shopping site
    1. Price comparisons for in-store purchases are based on what the customer actually buys. This includes price reductions and promotions (such as "half price" and "buy one get one free") but not store or category wide promotions such as “buy 6 bottles of wine and get 5% off” or linksave promotions (such as "buy cheese and get crackers free"). These are excluded as it is difficult to make fair comparisons. Products that are purchased on a "reduced to clear" basis will be compared at the price paid at till.
    2. Price comparisons for orders made online are based on what the customer received and paid for.
    3. Price data used for the Tesco Price Check is obtained from daily web scans of the Asda Home Shopping site.
    4. If prices are found to be different across the website postcodes sampled, we have used the most commonly occurring price
    and here
    1. The Tesco Price Check website will be updated with Asda prices on a daily basis for customers to check their receipts against.
    2. Where the item is not available for comparison on the Asda Home Shopping site, the product is shown as 'not available' (N/A).
    3. All prices obtained for Asda are believed to be correct. On rare occasions however, due to the number of prices being checked, there may be some inaccuracies.

"Products that are purchased on a "reduced to clear" basis will be compared at the price paid at till." well having bought two loaves at reduced price, it then compared it to full price at asda.....making tesco cheaper. had i bought them at the reduced price from asda...then asda would have been cheaper!

Same with my comparison - a good few items I know I can get from asda weren't included and all the reduced ones were - obvious results. Didn't come as a surprise though as I had bought only reduced items and the loss leaders. ;)

I used this price match website for the first time on Monday evening. They said it would be no longer than 36 hours before I got the results.
