Will my Guinea Pig have to have his eye out?

Hi, this is my first thread, so if i mess up or do something wrong i am really sorry, so please don't be mad!
My guinea pig had a fight with his brother a few weeks, about a month ago, and it was okay at first, then went cloudy, we took him to the vet, and he had some eyedrops and two lots of antibiotics, we took him back for numerous appointments and he is still on the antibiotics and drops, and they have said he might have to have his eye out and perhaps theres a chemical based treatment, so i just wanted to know what you guys think, and whether you have been through this and have some advice and support.
Thanks

poor pig
not sure about the eye but if mine are poorly it shows up with their eyes first no matter whats up with them. I think their eyes are really sensitive so maybe thats slowing things down?
Regarding them fighting, male pigs frequently fight and can be vicious; boys generally don't get on as well together - even after neuturing, I tried this as a last resort after a number of fights where getting more and more vicious. In the end I adopted two sows and gave one of my boys away. Otherwise I think they would have eventually killed one or the other.
one of my pigs is having surgery tomorrow to remove bladder stones, so i understand your worries:o0 -
