Valliant Turbomax Anti cycle mode...

S5 is not an error, it is a status code telling you what the boiler is doing. Can I ssume it is a Turbomax Plus 8 series?
Anti cycle mode means the boiler has a time delay built in to stop it firing repeatedly and unneccessarily. I think this delay can be set/changed via one of the 'd' numbers. Look in your manual.0 -
actually I think it is due to too high a pressure in the boiler. Need to bleed a radiator I think.0
-
Well blead the radiators and the pressure went down but each time I turn on the heating the pressure goes up and the radiator symbol starts to flash again!0

Sounds like a problem with the pressure vessel, assuming the pressure is over the normal value. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

Don't know if you've managed to resolve yet, but sounds like expansion tank, or blocked hose to it. Has the system been flushed regularly? Could be system bunged up.0
