Thomas Cook and 0870 numbers

Does anyone else get as annoyed as I do by 0870 numbers? I've just tried to book a flight through Thomas Cook. INstead of a confirmation once I'd been through the whole palaver of booking the flight, I got :"No response from queue". So now I don't know if I'm booked on the flight or not.
Thanks to the fantastic saynoto0870 site, I called Thomas Cook's "customer service" department, and was told to speak to someone in the flights department on an 0870 number.
I refused to call it, saying that I wasn't going to rack up charges for information that should be free.
It means that they're profiting out of giving bad customer service.

  • Could you not make up your own holiday using Martins holiday tools? Works out cheaper.

Then you wouldnt have to call Thomas Cook saving you money and time. PLUS the headache.

    Just a thought.

Thanks dangerous sports - I'll try that for next time.

  • Ive spent two hours with 3 calls in last two days to Thomas Cook. Mostly Ive used 0870 numbers but now managed through sayno website to get a non premium number.

I cannot get through and all I want to do is pay my invoice (which I cannot pay online) ..I have to use 08705133102.

I find their customer services incredibly bad and am wondering just what state Thomas Cook are in. In my opinion they are not the Thomas Cook they used to be ..somethings going wrong.
Has any body else noticed this and been able to make progress in paying money to them?? Maybe I should just lose my £75 deposit and start booking afresh with someone else.

I've got an ongoing complaint with Thomas cook, I emailed it to them, a week later they replied asking for my booking reference, I emailed that back but because they dont have personalised emails it just goes back into the main customerservice@thomascook email account so now I have to wait another week for a reply to that. Every time you answer a question you're at the back of the que again.

I know I could ring and sort it out but it's not urgent and like you say, it costs you a fortune.

I've spent nearly 4 hours over 5 days trying to get through to Thomas Cook on * I have now got an alternative number (*) from saynoto0870 & have currently been on hold for 20 minutes. - ALL I WANTED TO DO IS PAY THE BALANCE!! I have also sent 2 e-mails but have had no reply.

I am going to lodge a complaint - if I can get through. I am now DEFINITELY going to cancel my booking (if I can ever get through) and take my money elsewhere. I will be requesting my deposit back as well.

Thomas Cook customer service is some up there with the worst I have experienced. What can we do?! I'm considering going to Watchdog as this is ridiculous. My holiday was supposed to be a relaxing break with a few friends for my birthday. All it's been is stress.

I just booked with them last week for Sept with my girlfriend and have tried paying the balance online but it's a complete waste of time. The server is so slow and it doesn't even recognise the booking reference they emailed me!

I'll was going to try ringing but after seeing this i think ill leave it until during the week as don't want to get !!!!ed off on my weekend! I am not looking forward to their customer service...

I am so frustrated with Thomas Cook too... there are so many hidden costs... a particular bug-bear of mine is the amount it costs to book seats together on the plane, a fact which they keep as quiet as possible.
I would go as far to say that in my experience they were very underhand about many things in our holiday, and the reps were the worst.

I wrote a letter of complaint/feedback... and then spent hours on 0870 numbers when I had received no reply after 28 days (no surprise the only line that picked up straight away was the sales line).

When I did get a reply it was pretty much a printout of a template and didn't address any of my concerns.

Will now have to write another letter and probably wait another month!

I agree with the comment above that they profit from bad customer service!
