Do they even fit them any more?
My Focus is 2005, and that didn't come with one.
Can't see anyone buying one to try the socket out.

if your car has got a book with it in there you will have all the fuse box diagrams, are you sure your using the correct fuse for the appliance?- check. Then when you have found out what amp it takes (ie 15) get a new one (about a quid for a packet).

After you have done that, wiggle the sat nav plug around experiment by taking it out very slightly, they can be quite sensitive.

Failing that beg borrow and steal some cig appliances off friends? ie phone charger just to check its not the cig lighter itself

Hi everyone, just to let you know, I managed to charge up the sat nav in my friends car, so that is working alright. phew.

I am going to take it for an MOT on Friday I think so I may ask the fella if he can have a look at it for me.
