Item purchased not what was pictured

I purchased an item from a well known shop / website that displayed an image of the item.
The item arrived today but not what was shown on the website. I contacted the store who advised that the image must be wrong and that i can return it for a refund. I am really annoyed about this as clearly they should not be doing this.
Is this correct or should i be getting the item shown and what i thought i paid for?

Item was a dvd player pictured with 6 speakers, item received had 3 and in a different design style.0
