Maybe you could post a diary on the other board too - it really helps keep you motivated and lets people see your progress too!!Living the simple life0

As an idea, as you are paid weekly, why don't you take out £10/£20 "pocket money" on payday. Leave the rest in there, and your card at home when you go out shopping. You'll be surprised how much more of an impact it makes having to spend "real" money rather than just putting onto a card (debit or credit!). It's much more of a demotivator to actually see the amount of money decreasing in your purse! Also, if you haven't already, I would advise starting a spending diary, and write down absolutely everything that you spend. It's amazing how much some little things that you don't think about about add up over the month / year. And, as Tink suggested, start a diary on the "Debt Free Diary" board too. I don't have many people replying to mine, but I keep chattering away to no one in particular
Good luck with getting your overdraft down, and hope that you can get a permanent job!!::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T ::::AThat money talks, I don't deny, I heard it once, it said "Goodbye"~ VSP2011: #104 ~

Awwwww thanks everyone for your replies
I just enjoy it a lot when I can write on here and let people know how I am doing and it spurs me on when I write stuff down & see that I am doing well! I had a little knock-back on Friday after work. I got home to see a letter from Swindon Borough Council sending me a summons to court for not paying council tax:mad:...even though they never sent us any bills or anything? We had a guy come round about a week after we moved in (early Jan 2011) and he said he would get it all sorted for us and send us out a new bill. That never happened. Then the next thing that comes through our door is the summons. Great! But we've paid it off & they are going to send a bill out again and a direct debit mandate so lets hope that actually gets to us! LOL!
Tink_04.....GO & SPEND THAT VOUCHER! It feels soooo good knowing that you are spending and getting new things but not actually spending anything!
Gem68..I can't wait to see a positive balance in my current account!!
....and CH27...I know people aren't sitting here waiting for my updates. I don't expect them to be. It just feels good to know that people are out there reading all the stuff that I'm not just sitting here typing & pouring my heart out when no1 is listening.
Once again, thank you all so much for replying!!:D Really means a lot!
