£200/300 for exchange engine supplied and fittedI

Best price at Car Breakers Yard.. it is probably worth more to weigh it in.;)0

Exchange or faulty used? That's a bit low an estimation. £500-600 including fitting. It's a 5year old motor, with (most likely) the 1.4 engine used in Polo's et al, but unless you're looking at 2nd hand it will be more than a couple of hundred.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

Scrap it, worth more in bits than fixed. Why spend £300 or £400 to put a used engine in a car worth about the same.
Lesson learned, we have all been in similar situations, don't through good money after bad.0 -
