I just got a call from them, the woman identified themselves as 'Strawberry Loans' & they called me on 01656838121.
http://www.wearestrawberry.com/
I said I hadn't applied for a loan & she said I applied for a credit card, which I had recently but not with them.It was for one of those credit cards that you use to rebuild your credit rating.
She was rather rude,in fact bloody rude & she then hung up.Now whenever I apply for anything I always tick the 'do not contact' box.
Has anyone else heard/dealt with them?[TEXT DELETED BY FORUM TEAM]

People like Spankquis have links to even worse companies all over the place, they put them in "contact" with you, loads have complained about it on here.

Another bunch of penguins who do this are Experian, when bad credit people apply for their services to find loans and credit cards, Consperian put lots of other companies in touch with them so they can further ruin their credit ratings.

    Go figure.

Thanks for that! I used Experian some time ago to check my credit history & now my spam box is being flooded daily by 'get a loan' type mails as well as being plagued by spam phone calls, usually on a Monday or Tuesday, despite being on the TPS.
    Thanks again.

We only share your details with third parties with your permission, and certainly not when you simply check your Experian credit report. If, however, you use our Lower My Bills price-comparison service then your details may be passed on with your agreement.

I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. Yeah, but it's who you pass them onto James, it's laughable really that your company pass themselves off as a credit improvement service and you then put people onto brokers and sharks :rotfl:

Never made sense to me but I guess that's the business model.

I think Experian staff need 1 day of training each week,I phoned them up the other week and some tw*t actually had the audacity to tell me that when I use lower your thrills it might count as a credit search, but wasn't to sure.
Paying £2 for your report through the post is fine, but actually paying a monthly fee and playing on their credit score fruit machine for 6 sheets is scandalous.

And how much are they getting paid by these sharks in return for encouraging people to get into more debt?..

Not only that, but the "strawberry loans" website looks like a 13yr olds school project.

Utterly useless.....anyone putting details into that little puppy needs a double labotomy.

We do not deal with loan sharks. Customers are only put in touch with sub-prime lenders when 1) they are seeking credit and 2) their credit record means they're highly unlikely to be accepted for a prime product. Getting and sensibly managing credit will help improve someone's credit record.

I'll raise the incorrect advice about Lower My Bills with our contact centre. Thanks to star-fire for flaggin this up.
