Is the helium thing true? Some parts of the world get all their potable water from deep underground aquifers that don't replenish ("fossil aquifers"), so they are essentially mining their water.
 Plenty of that going on.
Australia just opened one desal plant in Sydney with another to follow (I believe) in Melbourne.0

with current inflation rates we're all running out of furkin money. M4 PROOVES that!:cool:It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0

I bet Joe Pasquale is happy about the helium thing. He can rent his voice out for parties.0

We have too much money, hence the inflation.0

That article is a spoof, right? I mean that the two bits I looked at Helium and chocolate are just complete rubbish.
Take chocolate - cocoa is not an attractive crop to grow at today's prices and "so in fewer than 20 years, chocolate might become an expensive rarity". What's wrong with a bit more expensive, so the farmers get a better income?
And helium - well maybe best not to waste it like we do, and so the price ought to rise, but it's quite a common constituent of natural gas (7% according to Wikipedia).
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

The website is a joke website but I think it's meant to be semi-serious. For example they claim helium extracted from the air is 10,000 times more expensive than that which is 'mined'. I have no idea if that is true.
The thing about agave seems reasonable as does the cocoa thing. I mean would you do manual labour at the equator for 80c/day? I wouldn't if I had the choice and maybe those poor farmers are starting to have choices.0
