Depends what you want to do with it. For basic things it will be fine. I wouldn't describe it as a great bargain though. There are laptops with faster processors and similar specs for similar prices.0

Can you tell me where, bearing in mind i dont want to pay more than £3500 -
The Packard Bell laptop is very good value for money IMO because it has 1Gb memory which is just as important as a high processor speed (tho it comes with 1.46GHz which isn't bad at all) and does make multi-tasking quicker. It also has a 15.4" widescreen, DVDRW+R9 and is wireless enabled too.0

I remember we used to say..."what rhymes with Packard Bell....oh yes $mell"
That make does seem to have a few problems surrounding it, certailnly I have been asked to try and sort out a few desktops by that manufacturer.
you just missed a good deal on the Dell inspiron recently....so don't jump in too quick....research first....which is what you're doing....but at £349....it would probably be hard to beat....spose you pays yer money and you make your choice.I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j
Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:0 -

Well there's this one for £395 but I don't know if there are any discount codes.

Dell often have good offers.
There's a £349 laptop on the PC World site with 1.6ghz processor.0 -
I reckon it is pretty good. The 1 gig ram and dvd writer are pretty big plusses on a laptop for £350.0

I am also going through this dilema at the moment.
I have narrowed it down to the 2 laptops listed above and below :
