:(hi, i started a ppi complaint with the fos around 19 months ago.upto now the case has been to the adjudicator and been upheld on all 6 counts, suggesting the company pays back all payments and interest.this runs at between 9-10k at this time.the company has rejected this and any further info had to passed to the fos by sept 5th 2010 before being passed to the ombudsman for a final decision.i called the fos last week and informed them iam now unemployed and could they tell me an approximate time before the ombudsman judges the complaint.has anyone been through this and how long did you wait.....thank you in advance for any help

Hi there
And welcome.
Sorry to hear of your unemployment, and hope something comes up for you very soon.
Did you request they put your case on fast tracking due to your current circumstances?
It may be worth asking if you have not done do.
I understand the waiting time for the ombudsman is not usually as long as when you first wait for the adjudicator, but its difficult to put a timescale on it.
Contact them regularly for updates on your case.
Hope you hear some good news soon, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I spoke to my adjudicator again late last week and he confirmed he had escalated my case to the ombudsman. When I asked him for a ballpark figure on the timescale he said he couldn't give an accurate one but had cases from last August that have not yet been actioned by the ombudsman.0 -
thanks for the replies.i spoke to a case worker and again would not be drawn on a timescale, but indicated that it could be as long again as from the begining of the complaint.as the service is free i dont like to pressurise them, but is there a system in place to "fast track",if there is the caseworker didnt seem interested in my circumstances.0

Hi there
They will consider fast tracking I believe, depending on what your circumstances are, such as illness, or mortgage/rent arrears etc.The one and only "Dizzy Di"
