Hi everyone, I dont know if I am allowed to post this here but ...
At my local park (Clissold Park) they have some animals like a mini zoo and have not been looking after them properly, 2 of the deer have been killed due to neglect and they are being kept in terrible conditions...
In the last 6 months alone is 3 deer dead (2 of them killed), 4 rabbits killed, 44 birds and chickens missing presumed dead. The animals suffer the stress of living on less than one acre inside a building site with inadequate security, attacked by vandals, dogs and foxes, fed junk food by the public and tended by untrained gardeners
There is a petition for Hackney Council to rehome the deer so far it has over 1400 signatures please feel free to sign...

There is also a facebook page set up you can "like" the page to be kept up to date

For anyone living close there is a picket, 11 AM on Saturday 19th of March at south side of the deer pen, Clissold Park near the entrance from Stoke Newington Church Street London N16. Tell your friends!
I really hope these poor animals can be helped

Is there a vet who tends for this herd?I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
RIP POOCH 5/09/94 - 17/09/070 -
Tankgirl I dont think they have a regular vet to check the deer but here is what a vet had to say when he visited in August, things have only got worse since.

Where are the RSPCA in this??0
-
The RSPCA are aware of this, in 2007 a vet carried out work for the RSPCA and rehomed some of the male deer
The story is here:

I have been given a bit more info so thought I would update:
There are 7 deer in the park:
Stanley The Stagg has been vasectomised he can't have babies.
The 2 fawns in the pen were sired by 2 adolescents who were shipped pronto to the royal gunpowder mills -- 175 acres of woodland and grazing -- deer heaven.
Stan's a fallow deer and has 4 doe friends plus the (female) 2 fawns.
The deer vet who visited last August saw that he had a lacerated lip from a dog attack that morning.
A deer was put down in August after a break in by vandals
A doe died on 14 feb following a dog attack -- no-one called the vet the day before even though she was lying down.
The 3rd deer (doe) died a week later from a stress-aggravated infection.
And Hackney Council still refuse to rehome the deer!0
