Child Trust Fund £50

Hi all,
Just received a CTF £50 voucher for my newborn.
Looking to put this into an account as soon as possible so that it starts gaining interest.
What are the best options out there at the moment?

It depends if you plan to add more money yourself, and whether you want savings or investments. When I was looking round some time ago my CTF investment short list was this:

If you prefer a savings account see the MSE article.

Think I'm going to just put the £50 in a CTF account.
It seems I can get a better rate if I put any other money for my baby in an ISA in my name..

Really finding it hard to get a bank / building society in Northern Ireland that offers a decent rate...

Did you read the MSE article I linked to? It tells you 2 of the best, one of which can be operated by post so it doesn't matter where you are.

Don't expect good rates though and expect them to get steadily worse as the vouchers come to an end due to lack of competion for new business. That's why I chose the investment version instead.
