Lloyds can recall overdraft?

I was out if work for three months and had a £1000 overdraft and when I spoke to the bank today to check my balance they said Lloyds could recall the overdraft in full or in part at any time. While I am going to try and pay the overdraft off I could never afford to pay even half of it off as that would be my wages gone. Would it be advisable to open another bank account in case something happens? If so which bank could I use as it will probably lay dormant unless I start paying in a small work bonus.

Yes unfortunately an overdraft CAN be recalled at anytime, as you have been out of work, I'm guessing there has been little or no turnover in the account hence they have done this. I would get another account for your wages to go in!0

you could get another bank account with the same overdraft limit if credit is good but indeed overdraft can be recalled at any time regardless of circumstance0
