Hi all i have just reviewed my finances and realised i have been paying ppi for a while on a credit card (egg) without knowing (silly i know). I have sent an email requesting cancellation and have had a reply saying it takes 30 days to process so i will be charged again this month.
I replied saying this was unacceptable and recieved the following:
The option for Card Repayment Protection was an option you selected as part of your online application for an Egg Card on 10 February 2006.
In addition to this you would have had to select that you agreed to the terms and conditions of the policy before you submitted your application.
If you still wish to make a complaint regarding this please reply to this secure message with a convenient time of the day to contact you we'll arrange for a Team Leader to give you a call to discuss this further.
If a Team Leader is unable to resolve your complaint you then have the option to escalate this to our Customer Relations Team
What i want to know is should i persue it or have i shot myself in the foot. I really dont remember opting for the insurance due to good sickness cover etc at work.
Any ideas guys whats my next move?????????????????

Hi there
Can they provide you with any such evidence in regards of their decision.
I would continue to challenge this - but in writing only if you can.
I am aware that with some online applications it would not give the option of continuing with the application if you did not accept the ppi, not sure what the case is with yours, but keep on at them until you receive a final decision, and if they come back with the same decision by then, you can make the complaint to the FOS.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
