Carrying on from my other thread, i have had to download the Audio driver for the PC.
Its a Realtek audiio driver, and it seems to be the same as i had before.
But i have no sound .
Now when i got the PC there was no sound either, so i had to take it back, and the guys said they had to adjust a sound/volume control, as was set to mute, however me being me,I never asked what one it was ........
I have gone though all the sound devices/volume controls i can find, whether that is thru Device Manager, or the controls in the control panel, but to no avail.
The speakers are connected up correctly, and the volume is turned up to max on them.

Any ideas on where to look??

  • Start --> Run, type in dxdiag. look in the sound tab for details of your sound driver. You can also test it in dxdiag.

Faliure at step 19 (User verification of software) HRESULT = 0X0000000(error result)

  • ISTR you get that error when you click 'No' in answer to the question during the tests, 'did you hear a sound?' Is that the case for you? Did you hear any sound?

  • no sound at all.

  • The fact you have a sound tab in dxdiag generally indicates that your sound card is correctly fitted and working, so it does indeed appear you have mute selected somewhere or there is a hardware issue with your output jack/cables.

    Have you tried headphones?
