    Hi TM4L,

I am struggling with my weight loss. I am 10.5 and need to be 9.5 :o It doesnt help that I am bored at work and dont have enough work on to keep me occupied! I keep saying I am going to step up the riding but have not managed to yet. I rode the big old boy today and then I feel like a flea. Tomorrow I will ride the little 15.2 and then I feel like a monster lol.

I have managed to stop drinking wine during the week with my mum which should help long term.

I have done a fair few surveys lately and just cashed in another £5 to paypal off one of them - they say every little helps but I know what you mean about it being frustrating.

    Enjoy your weekend. x

Well, things WERE looking good here for a while.

My beginning of May update is:

    LTSB Loan 1 - £0 from £2152.45
    LTSB Loan 2 - £5168.01 from £5427.69

    Barclaycard (0% til Jun 2012) - £3439.84 from £3519.84

    Total: £8607.85

£2492.13 down this month 'Debt-busting' savings total £110.47

    £3123.77 down from 'formal' LBM

The maths may well look squiffy as I'm doing this on 6th May, rather than 28 April as planned, but at least that's where I stand now!

However all is not well in TooMany land :(, as I really need to get another car, no choice in the matter . Really annoying as it shoud have lasted me another year at least. I didn't spend *that* much on the last, so have decided that a slightly bigger outlay on a slightly newer car with less miles (and air con cos I don't like the heat!) is a sensible spend.

So on Wednesday I get my new(er) car :T I'm really looking forwards to getting it, but am pig sick at what it's going to do to my debt busting :o

It's costing me £3084.85 (including 3% surcharge) and my old car. I'm going to have to pay by credit card - annoying and all the more reason to be debt free and able to pay cash as ther's a 3% surcharge for using a credit card . I could get a loan, but my plan is to transfer most of the cost to my 0% BurkleysCreditCard and pay off the remainder of the card I'm paying on next month - so should not need to pay interest on it at all, although will need to look to do a BT in Feb 2012 to avoid interest from then :rotfl:

It does however push my DFD out to June 2012, from February 2012, 4 more paydays than currently :o

Gutted as I was doing so well :(

On a good news front - have discovered that I CAN overpay my remaining loan :T Every spare penny will be going towards this from now on, so my savings are going to have to look sick for just over a year. Oh well, it's worth it :A

Thought I'd better do an update due to the significant impact of my forced car purchase

    So, the position currently is:

    LTSB Loan 2 £5168.01
    FD CC £3084.85
    Barclay CC £3439.84

    New Total: £11692.70

The plan is to transfer what I can from the FD CC onto the Barclays 0% Credot card next month, and then pay off the rest of it - I should be able to clear it according to my spreadsheet :o

Gutted, as this has now moved my DFD back out to June 2012 - hence the vastly increased number of 'smileys' in my revised signature.

I'm doing everything I can, surveys... ebaying...amazoning etc to get this date brought forward - lets see what I can manage to do! :D

Other significant news, DS2 has moved back in - he's paying rent but will probably more than eat through and use in electricity what he's giving us, bless him. We'll see! Oddly enough, it's really rather nice having him around :rotfl:

It's addictive this paying debts off lark you know!!! :p

Have done lots of ebaying this month, and finally had some return on my surveys, AND managed to make a few book sales on Amazon, so have managed to make an additional payment off my remaining loan of £100 :D.

Plus my monthly Barclay CC payment of £80 has been made ;).

    So totals now are:

    LTSB Loan 2 £5068.01
    FD CC £3084.85
    Barclay CC £3359.84

    New Total: £11512.70 :o

    Slowly but surely........

    Hi All,
Well things here are trundling along. I'm managing to keep making overpayments on my loan, so all is in a heathy downwards trend again after my enforced car purchasing trauma.

    Position today is:

    LTSB Loan 2 £4061 down 1007.01
    FD CC £0 down 3084.85
    Barclay CC £5600.40 up 2240.16

    New Total: £9661.4 down 1851.30

All heading the right way (in total at least). What amazes me is that my total debt (from LBM) has reduced by £1438.58, despite buying a car for £4999. Just shows what you can do when you really put your mind to something! :D

    Hiya Lam

Sorry to hear about your terrible June - I hope it wasn't anything too dreadful and that all horses etc are OK!

The diaries on here are so inspirational aren't they! Wonderful site!

It was bad as in expensive but luckily nothing extra gone on credit card just not much overpaying done :D

Mum had bought tickets for us to go see her sister in Sardinia, OH had bought me Bon Jovi tickets for xmas so we went to Edinburgh to see them.

We had the house move and horses back to livery. Unfortunately another new livery never knew her previous yard had a strangles case (they stupidly all wanted it kept quiet). Long story short the mares paddock at our new yard was quarantined. My little mare got the swollen glands and temp and 3 of 6 of the mares contracted some sort of the virus. three weeks box rest and £500 worth of vet bills later (fortunately paid by my OH) we are hopefully being given the all clear to move again on the yard after vet has done my mare's swab test on Monday (mine being the last). In the meantime the gelding looks pregnant and thinks he is in retirement lol.

    Oh my goodness!

What an absolute nightmare!!! Well the strangles bit... Sardinia and Bon Jovi both sound brilliant! LOL.

Fingers crossed for you getting the all clear on Monday!

Have to confess my mare has been a paddock ornament recently. She lives about 10 miles from home, and I don't know if it's my age but my motivation for doing anything seems to have vanished this year. Ridiculous as we got on the RC dressage team last year and were having a good go at sorting our jumping heeby jeebies.... and this year shes out munching grass and like your gelding looks like she's expecting! :o How in heavens name do I get my mo jo back? I've even entertained loaning / sharing thoughts but she's a quirky madam (have I mentioned that she's chestnut :p)!

When we were at the farm although it was great having them 'in the back garden' I lost all motivation. The new yard (potential for 20 horses - 14 atm) is a mix of happy hackers and kids who compete so I feel ready to go again.

I have 2 chestnut mares and a chestnut gelding :D My mares are quirky - the one (OH's really) is quiet to ride and I have a sharer that comes once over the weekend and once during the week. She is fab. I tried loaning my little TB out but the person who came to try her complained she was a bit 'hot' even after me giving a list of her faults and actually on the day I thought she was a little star. I hated watching them ride her and she is a bit of a field ornament. Might try dressage again on her(her novice scores range from a whopping 44% on a bad day to 72% on a good day) :D Her jumping is too fast and flat out for my poor old dodgy back! Maybe we can inspire each other to go out and do some dressage comps this summer. What are your scores like? Am I in your league lol before I commit to some friendly competition? :D

The gelding belongs to friend who is working abroad with her hubby and I loan him. He is a veteran and has evented in the past and I am hoping to get my jumping legs back again on him this year. :D
