Yeah he was fine - took nearly 8 months with another two trips to hospital and all the box rest (and it all happened a week into owning him so I never had insurance!) I perservered with him for another year but after more vet bills discovered he had bone spavin in both back hocks (at 4) so sent him back to his breeder who was happy to have him retire with his mum. They had bred him for sentimental reasons and hoped he would have been as good on the track as his family but alas he was not!0

Glad he was ok! That sounds like an awful situation for you though
At least he's back with the breeder for retirement, they sound like good people.
Have subscribed to your thread - hope you don't mind! Looks like we have quite a few things in common:D:D:D:D Debt Free as of 26/3/2012

Hi 4legs.
Just want to welcome you to the forum and wiwh you luck in clearing those debts, i too have been in debt for about 20 years and my aim is to have bank statements that say CREDIT!!!
Most impressed you are trying to have alcohol free days, i would not even contemplate it!! Wine keeps me sane :beer:05/03/14 £15,980 0n 2 CCs
07/04/14 £15,690 On 2 CCs
:eek:0 -
MumyChicken - wine keeps me sane too - but a lot of my outgoings have been on wine and DH and I just both drink far more than we should - The last month has been a LOT better though - I've even not been too embarassed by the contents of our recycling bin - for once it's not been overflowing with wine bottles!!! :A That said, my AFD total is not good this month - less drunk when I have drunk, but even a glass is not an alcohol free day!
Well with much fiddling and juggling, looks like I am going to be able to pay off one of my loans next month :j - I'm SOOO excited! 29 sleeps to go!!!
My beginning of March update is:
LTSB Loan 1 - £2152.45
LTSB Loan 2 - £5427.69
Barclaycard (0% til Jun 2012) - £3519.84
Total: £11099.98
£372.36 down this month 'Debt-busting' savings total £1560.25
£372.36 down from 'formal' LBM
I've decided I'll do an update after pay day each month (and try to keep it on the 28th), so I can keep track of how I'm doing, and keep myself motivated.... at least that's the grand master plan!
Thanks for reading! Happy debt-busting all!

Well, I've decided today that I really like the signatures with the Paydays to DF smileys countdown at the bottom, so I think I'll be doing my signature!
A new month for AFDs - I'm aiming for 15 this month... so that can go in my sig too!
And whilst I'm about it, I'll include my dieting goals too. 9st 8 at the moment, and my Wii Fit tells me I should be 8st 7.... so that can go on the signature too :j <--this is what I should be doing instead of sitting here if I want to lose over a stone!!!
Grocery challenge this month... I'm aiming for £350 again, and am keeping better track of it this month too! This covers 25/3 to 25/4 as pay day is on the 26th. This weeks shopping is a monster - looks like it will be £104 - but theres a few things for othr weeks in there too like 2 chickens (one for freezer - 2 for £7), 3 lots of toothpaste (3 for 2) etc etc.... and total so far this month is £78.67, so including the £104 still leaves £170 available if needed!
Am starting to make my own bread too - will make 4 loaves this weekend!!! 3 white, one brown (te brown one is for me)
No more debt busting news to report - hit a bit of a lull and I'm finding it very frustrating..... I want to do something and see those numbers dropping... I also know that just like losing weight it's the long haul that counts
Off to do my siggy now (assuming I can work out how!), and then off to do neddies, walk dog, and make homemade fish and chips for tea!!!
