or there is a free student accommodation competition running on the Mansion Student website at the moment that could save a fair whack!0

Taking surveys are quite good for making a bit of extra cash, doesn't take up too much time and you get a nice surprise when you reach a certain amount of credits. You can sign up to a number of market research companies sites - YouGov is a good one. studentbeans have also set up a research panel just for students and it's free to register.
