Tax credits and working ad hoc

I am currently working part time and claiming tax credits, I have been offered a job merchandising but don't know how many hours I will be working and during quite periods I may not have any hours.
I was just wondering how this will effect my tax credits.
This job will be on top of my usual job

Anybody know? I am going to phone tax credits as soon as I take the job but am worried about over or underestimating my earnings.

The only thing you can do is estimate im afraid, try to overestimate rather than underestimate if you can take the hit just now, that way you wont end up paying anything back.
