My Excel has just suddently stopped changing dates into date format??

If I put 29-2 usually it will changed into the format it is set up with, but now is just leaves is as 29-2.

Can anyone think of any reason why this would happen??

(ETA There are only 29 days in February thats why you stupid woman)

?? the cells are already formatted - this is happening on documents that have been around for months as well as new ones that I have just set up - it is happening on everything just from today (was fine up until then)

Sounds like someone has changed the formatting to text - can you not just change it back?

you need to format your cells and look at the date heading. i knwo youve said theyre already formatted but it seems like its defaulted back to factory settings or someones been a tinkerin!

Nothing has defaulted back and the cells are formatted already. Nobody else uses my computer.

If you're hoping it will convert it to a date - there aren't 29 days in Feb so it won't.
