Hi, have decided that its about time i got rid of my very old, slow and rundown desktop, and updated to a new one. Have been looking around and the All-in-ones appeal to me. Can anyone tell me the pro's/cons of me buying one of these? I really don't know anything about them, just that they look smart lol. The only thing bothering me at the moment is are they easy to fix, and get parts for if broke?
All advice much appreciated

All in ones - part brakes, the whole thing needs to be sent away.
"Normal" PC - so much easier to fix things!Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
yep/ upgradability (lack of ) can be an issue with all-in-ones// not necessarily a problem -- but could be the clincher for some. Having said that, there are some very nice all-in-ones on the market  /BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

Right...so IF i was to buy an all-in-one (not made mind up yet)....my budget would be £400. Which is the better out of these....

Personally I would stick with a desktop, once you have the tower somewhere discrete it wont look any worse. Also, if a part breaks or becomes obsolete you can just replace it. Im thinking particularly about the screen.0

Difficult and expensive to repair (think laptop) and limited upgrade options.
Maybe consider a 'slimline' tower system if space is an issue? Something like the Dell Inspiron 560ST?

Laptops are not for me. The kids have got one, and have had nothing but trouble after the warranty ran out, of course. Reckon i will go for a desktop....more robust, and i can manage to fit parts myself if i have problems with them in future. Thanks for the advice everyone :-)
So next question :-).........cheap desktop, with windows 7, and a monitor for under £400???0
