which is best use for nectar vouchers?

i know with tesco club cards that are loads of great deals on offer with real money for value when you swap them. but with nectar i am stumped. doing shopping in sainsburys obviously not up to much but cant see anything outstanding. i used to use a 500 voucher for a mcdonalds value meal or 2 x 500 vouchers for free entry into an odeon cinema. from what i gather these are no longe accepted there. i have approx £15 and all i an see is perhaps a £30 mag subscription. am i missing some real bargains or are they not much cop in comparision. what do you use yours on?

I use mine for the £5 Adams vouchers, well that is the ones I have had so far anyway. Get £5 instead of £2.50. Sometimes they do offers during the year where Debenhams etc are £5 instead of £2.50.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

I tend to use mine for Brewers Fayre restaurants. The exchange rate for most Nectar stores is 500 points for £2.50, but if you get a Brewers Fayre voucher it entitles you to £5 off when you purchase main meals for 2 people. So, if 4 of us go out for a meal and I take 2 vouchers it reduces our bill by £10.

This year i used mine against the Adams promotion when the upped the voucher redemption from £5 to £7.50. I plan to save them again till a similar offer comes up next year to maximise my return, otherwise theres nothing else i would bother with.Re brewers fayre, they sometimes have bogof vouchers flying around so I am not sur that i would use my nectar points for that.Does anyone know if any other participating stores ever increase their redemption like Adams do?

Just to note that I agree with the OP.

I've been collecting tesco and nectar for a year, have got bella italia vouchers, enterance to thorpe park etc with Tesco, but just can't see *anything* worth spending my nectar points on. I don't spend a lot of money on it, so have only managed around 2000 points in a year and so to spend 3 months savings on a £2.50 voucher just seems rubbish.

Yes i'm the same as you both - have lots of sainsburies points and just don't know what to do with them. Can spend my tesco ones easily.

You do realise you can pay with Nectar points in Argos don't you? It's 500 points = £2.50, but you gotta agree, it's still worth having? I used some of my Nectar points a few weeks ago when they were doing the 'spend £50 get a £5 voucher', which in effect increased their value. I think Argos do that offer from time to time.

Himself and I have been saving our Nectar points like billy-o this year (it helps that he fills up his HGV in BP garages wherever possible!)..... the equivalent of £240 to spend in Argos! Yup, I was amazed too!

rent a blockbuster video using one nectar voucher.its the best deal in my opinion as it is £2.50 worth of voucher against something that would normally cost £3.75.

re brewers fayre my local paper and the postman are always giving me the same deals that nectar offer without need to use nectar points.

the best one offf deal was the summer nectar savings when they halved the points needed for places like cd wow and the like through the nectar site.one to look out for in summer as i guess it will be repeated.
although nectar arent great they are a better bet than lloyds tsb visa card points which is really poor!

am glad it is not just me struggling with what to use them on. i have about 4000 i think, but after the amount of time it took to save am not just using them for £2.50 off my shopping. i think its disgraceful that they offer so little. i have no young children so that rules out adams. i have no brewers fayre near me so that rules out that one and argo just give you the flat £2.50. i love my boots and tesco cards and get great ealls in return but it really is time sainsburys upped their game. what do all you mse friends think??? would be very interested to find out what you spend them on?

I bought clothes in Adams on Saturday and the voucher redemption of £7.50 is still on. I was told this would be into next year as Adams have a problem with the electronic redemption. You have to get your paper vouchers in advance.
