A & L Plus saver

I have recently opened the A&L Premier Direct current account and have automatically been given a Plus Saver account. I'm sure that I saw something about not getting any interest in any month you make a withdrawal, or having to pay into it every month for a year, something that mae me decide not to bother with the account anyway. But now I can't find anything like that mentioned. Have they changed the T&C's or am I going loopy?

I'm pleased to say that, yes, you are! ;)

You're getting confused with all the various products that A&L have.

DirectSaver is the account with the 'no interest in any month you make a withdrawal' clause.

RegularSaver is the account (linked to either the Premier or Premier Direct account, depending on when you applied) where you commit at the outset to save for a year.

PlusSaver is the savings account automatically attached to both the Premier and Premier Direct accounts, and currently pays a poor rate of interest.
  • Thank you for that info, it is a bit confusing! I take it that I'm better sticking with their onlien saver issue 2 and ISA then anyway!

That's where my money is...5.40% and 5.45% (with bonus) respectively. Hopefully it'll soon be 5.65% and 5.70% if they increase in line with base rates. :D
