Hello guys, I'm wondering if anyone can take a look at the attached pictures i've uploaded of a Penalty Charge Notice I received today?
I was driving an artist to a film shoot in tooting/wandsworth and we struggled to find the building. I turned into a road, perfectly legitimate which was used as a bus depot and turnaround. I dropped the artist off and then did a right turn. In all the confusion of the traffic (being a busy time of the day) I absolutely...and dont know how... missed the clear 'No right turn' signs and the 'turn left' sign on the road. Its a No right turn except buses only.
In hindsight, I feel stupid because I should of realized and took the time to use my eyes a bit more. A live camera operator had caught me at the time but when i received the penalty charge notice its all on one page, front and back and looks pretty basic.
NOTE: (As i cannot upload links as a new user. I have asked Lorweld to post them. www-advercity-co-uk/uploaded-html)
Can anyone take a peek and see if this legitimate? This is certainly a first! N.B.
Thanks!

Take this to pepipoo for best advice.0

Was there anything enclosed about the date of service? Was there a dated frank on the envelope?0 -
With PCNs the date of service is not too relevant (compared with a NIP).
The OP has got it well within the 14 days allowed for a 50% reduction.
Have taken this to pepipoo forums already but I'm trying to get the eat advice and allow other people who sent on there to take a look.
The letter was not dated no first class its just a brown envelope with 'postage paid'.
The alleged contravention took place on the 7th feb. The letter was dated the 24th and I received it on the 26th if that helps anyone ?
Appreciating your help here guys!0 -
As already posted, there's no mileage for you in the date the PCN was issued. (They have 28 days from the date of the "offence")0

The reason it looks low key is because it's issued by a council, not the DVLA. Unfortuantely, they do have the right to do this. I had a letter from Ealing council last year, showing me sitting in a yellow box (in my car!). They decided to let me off that time, but they do have the right to fine you.
That junction in Tooting is quite clearly marked, and to be honest- it's a busy road and a right turn would have probably been quite dangerous. Not to mention the pedestrian crossing, hundreds of buses, suicidal pedestrians and yellow box.
If I were you, I'd pay it. I don't think you will successfully contest it.0
