I cant change my Java automatic update time

God me again

I'm beginning to feel a bit of a pain.:embarasse

After all this virus problem with ebay and the js downloader amv trojan horse that was blocked by AVAST for me on Friday i was speaking to a friend and he was saying how important it was to keep your computer up to date.
He said the ideally Java should be set to update at least every week and not the default once a month.

So i have just tried to change mine from the 25th of each month at 6am to every Sunday at 6am and i cant do it.
It changes ok but after i have clicked apply and then ok it just goes back to the 25th of each month again.

Anyone got any ideas? i installed an update (to version 24) earlier today that it found on Friday (25th)
