I was extremely tempted to buy a coffee and bacon roll this morning but fought the urge. Every penny counts and I have even more impetus to cut this debt due to my "active" credit card being suspended.

Not been doing too well paying off the debt. Although I have paid a little extra into the bad card each month, it's not been the £100 a month I wanted to do. I'll still pay it off by November though all being well.

    Hi there
Sorry that you are struggling to make headway with your debts. At least now with the loan so close to pay off you may finally get some traction!

Ref the phone deal. Why not sell your new phones rather than the old ones?

Could either of you do mystery shops, surveys online etc? They don't earn a whole heap of money but do build up over time.

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Debt level hasn't increased thankfully. It's been going down over the months, although a bit of the cash that I hoped to go toward the debt ended up going towards other things.

Hi chevalier. Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with a couple of the bills really does make a difference even though I get caught up with the level of it occasionally.
I've already sold one of the old phones, and kind of want to keep the new ones. My old one kept on breaking down so keeping it would have been a false economy. I'd rather try and avoid selling my new phone even though it's probably the most sensible idea financially. If I just stick with my plan I'll definitely get everything paid within 5 years.
I haven't looked into mystery shopping but will now you have mentioned it.
    Thanks for the info :)

So on the positive side you have made payments to your debts and not increased it with new purchases!! well done you.

i think sometimes we need to just accept the pace the debt is going down and not get too frustrated with ourselves - its all going in the right direction - down!

Thanks :). The trouble is it does get frustrating simply because emergency and random things pop up that I can't really plan for. It would be silly for me to set aside money for that each month though because of the high interest on some of the cards. I think once the loan and the other card are paid off I'll be in a better frame of mind with it all.

Had a number of NSD's during the last few months, but also have spent about £200 more than I hoped.
Unfortunately I have been unable to overpay much on one of the credit cards (and therefore still owe just over £600 on that).
On the plus side I only have £570 left to pay on the loan!

Since 6 months have passed by, and I only checked my credit files with the three agencies last month I thought I would brave it again today and try and get a loan from my bank to pay off the stupid interest credit card.
I got a reasonable rate (compared to what I have been getting in recent years), and waited for the financial adviser to push through the request.
Unfortunately it turns out there's some kind of problem with my credit file. So now I am going to have to obtain them again - another waste of money- just to see what's going on. Meanwhile the 29.9% card just keeps taking away £240 from me every month!!! :(
On the plus side only a few months now until the last loan is paid off!!!

Haven't done very well this month. Things have been extremely tight this month - only have a few quid in my pocket.
On the plus side only have £390 left to pay on the loan, and it's payday tomorrow!!!
